
Kevin Liu, Managing Director
Having lived in the UK for over 15 years, Kevin returned to China in January 2009 and founded KC Standard, with the vision of developing the company into China’s premier provider of professional knowledge on global business and lifestyle.
Kevin previously was an Information Officer at the Media Monitoring Unit, a current intelligence division of the UK Government Cabinet Office, reporting directly to former Prime Minister Tony Blair on global media coverage relevant to the UK. He was also responsible for establishing media relations and formed part of the crisis response team during major national emergencies, including the London 7/7 bombings in 2005. Kevin then joined Exclusive Analysis, a London-based specialist intelligence company that forecasts violent and political risks worldwide, where he managed the Asia Division’s analysis and forecasts for 39 countries, including China.
Kevin is regularly interviewed on current affairs on international media, including CCTV, BBC, CNN, CNBC and Bloomberg. He holds a Masters degree in Politics and Communication and a Bachelors degree in International Relations and History from the London School of Economics.
Kevin is frequently invited to speak on China and Asia at renowned business and academic institutions, including: Cultural Risks to Doing Business in China at the University of Latvia; Business Culture during China’s 30-Year Reform at the Russian Academy of Sciences; Investment Trends in China and India at the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants; Risks to Doing Business in China at the Wachovia Emerging Markets Conference; War Risks in South and Southeast Asia at Lloyd’s; Political and Cultural Trends in North Korea at the Royal Society for Asian Affairs; Trade and Credit Risks in Asia at Exporta Conferences.
